The Male Pattern membawa balada piano ini bukan buat mengharukan, tapi buat cerita perampokan yang berakhir kacau balau gara-gara karakternya sok keren pengen ngutip dialog Dark Knight Rises. “Charlie (The Robbery)” itu fiksi gelap yang sengaja dibuat absurd, bukan drama serius.
Lirik “I tried to say a line from The Dark Knight Rises, when Charlie made his move, I blew him half way across the room” jadi puncak ironi lagu ini, momen paling gawat malah dipicu keinginan tampil dramatis kayak film action.
Lirik Lagu The Male Pattern – Charlie (The Robbery)
They say that Charlie's got a friend at a pharmacy He's not hooked up with any serious crew, Just an old buddy from school, who's a multiple CVS franchisee He's not a real player at all Behind that front door It's just charlie and that .38 that he loves to show off A couple thousand in cash That he keeps with his stash Mostly percocets and Mickey Mouse barbiturates (sha la la) I know, I gotta get back out on the job market If I can't piss clean, they'll amend the agreement to [supervised visitation] and court mandated treatment But I bought a .45 It feels good at my side It’s my God-given right And I'm just dying for the moment for somebody to test me I got some bad ass lines memorized at the ready (Sha la la) You watch He'll give up the score without the slightest fight This gun might be loaded but we only need to show it And then it's all for the taking, there's no way to blow it Now's the time to take a leak And put your ski mask on Park at the end of his street Kill the lights I feel like I'm in Vegas on fight night Stick ‘em up, this is a heist, put your hands up toward the sky Don't reach for that piece unless your ready for heat Charlie looked like he was going to cry I got too excited I tried to say a line from The Dark Knight Rises When Charlie made his move I blew him half way across the room I grabbed the score and I ran for the door (Sha la la)
