Dari Queens, proyek naratif besutan Will Schwartz lewat moniker The Male Pattern menetaskan single anyar bertajuk I Was Shot in the Heart!, mengawinkan keputusasaan krisis paruh baya dengan racikan Americana yang kasar dan sinis.
Ia meluncur santai dengan ayunan ritme bertempo sedang. Petikan gitar akustik menopang alur bersama dengung gitar listrik yang berpasir, sementara vokal narasinya yang terdengar letih dan kering. Melodinya menyusup tipis-tipis di sela birama, memberi bumbu melodi yang renyah sebelum aransemennya melebar tanpa tergesa-gesa memamerkan klimaks.
