Saya tidak siap mendengar lagu garasi secepat ini bicara soal orang-orang yang dikubur lalu dilupakan.

One-Eared Boy, proyek Paul B. Picard dari Normandia (negeri yang rock-nya pernah diledek John Lennon mirip anggur Inggris), menggeber Annie Anymore tanpa ampun. Gitarnya mentah. Ritmenya tak mau berhenti. Ia tidak memberi waktu untuk bersiap. Ada desakan yang sekilas mengingatkan pada Ty Segall dan dentuman The White Stripes, dan suara serak Paul membuat semuanya terdengar seperti khotbah yang diteriakkan dari atas ampli. Kita dipaksa mengangguk-anggukkan kepala, bahkan ketika ceritanya membuat kita ingin diam.

Ceritanya diangkat dari dua kisah nyata di bulan-bulan awal perang Ukraina. Satu sosok tanpa nama ia beri nama Annie, supaya tidak ikut lenyap. “I saw him digging deep in the soil, With his only nails and fingers”, nyanyinya. Baris itu tidak butuh gitar untuk terasa berat.

Annie Anymore sempat disisihkan dari sesi EP debut One-Eared Boy. Untung tidak dibuang.
