Yellofox – Maybe Tomorrow

Sebuah mobil tua dengan peta kertas berantakan di dashboard rasanya jadi tempat paling pas untuk mendengarkan “Maybe Tomorrow” pertama kali. Yellofox, band beranggotakan enam orang asal Den Haag, menghadirkan gubahan yang terasa seperti membuka jendela mobil di tengah perjalanan panjang, membiarkan angin sore masuk sambil radio memutar lagu yang pas untuk suasana hati yang campur aduk.

Dibuka dengan “Feeling kind of lonely, feeling kind of left behind” yang membawa kejujuran yang sederhana, jauh dari kesan meratap berlebihan. Harapan baru muncul lewat “But maybe tomorrow when I meet my companion, who will dream with me every night”, sebuah baris yang terdengar seperti doa kecil sebelum tidur, bukan janji besar yang muluk. Yellofox konsisten memilih percaya pada hari esok tanpa perlu menyangkal kesepian yang masih dirasakan hari ini.

Harmoni vokal yang berlapis memberi kehangatan khas tahun tujuh puluhan, sementara petikan gitar dan string bergerak santai layaknya perjalanan darat tanpa rencana matang. Sentuhan hangatnya membuat lagu ini terasa ringan, cukup untuk membuat kepala bergoyang pelan tanpa perlu berdiri dari kursi. Kadang menunggu hari esok memang lebih ringan kalau ada teman perjalanan yang mau menyanyikan lagu yang sama.
