“I’m the one who’s standing in the corner, just watching the world as it’s getting warmer” menangkap rasa terjebak itu dengan pas, seseorang yang melihat semua orang bergerak maju sementara dirinya masih ragu melangkah. Lalu di bridge, “all this waiting is a lie, just a cloud in an empty sky” jadi semacam kesadaran pahit, bahwa menunggu waktu yang tepat kadang cuma cara halus untuk terus takut.
Lovebugs kembali lewat “Hurry Up and Wait” dengan pesan yang justru terasa mendesak, hidup tidak akan menunggu siapa pun yang masih sibuk berjaga-jaga.
Lirik Lagu Lovebugs – Hurry up and Wait
Hurry Up and Wait (verse) I’m the one who’s standing in the corner Just watching the world as it’s getting warmer There’s nothing I can do but feel so blue Counting all the things that I’ve never done Another perfect day that has never shone Just watching my life go by without a clue (pre-chorus) Always hoping for the best and expect the worst So, if the ship goes down, I will be the first To sink in silence, oh so calm and slow (chorus) Better hurry up and wait ‘Cause you’ll never know Hurry up and wait You might miss the show We will never know We will never know Better hurry up and wait ‘Cause you’ll never know Hurry up and wait Like an all-time low We will never know We will never know (verse) I’m saving all my breath for a warning sign Holding back the tears like they weren’t mine While the world keeps spinning, I don’t understand Counting all the things that never passed the test I carry them around, never let them rest Another chance that slipped right through my hands (pre-chorus) Always bracing for the fall, like it was rehearsed So, if it all comes down, I will feel it first I just can’t help but hit an all-time low (chorus) Better hurry up and wait ‘Cause you’ll never know Hurry up and wait You might miss the show We will never know We will never know Better hurry up and wait ‘Cause you’ll never know Hurry up and wait Like an all-time low We will never know We will never know (bridge) All this waiting is a lie Just a cloud in an empty sky Nothing is coming anyway Fear just stole another day (chorus) Better hurry up and wait hurry up and wait Better hurry up and wait hurry up and wait
