Sabtu yang terlalu sepi, kasur yang enggan ditinggalkan, jam yang dihitung satu per satu. Malam minggu di kamar kos yang kita semua pernah jalani.

Dari situ Down berangkat. The Satellite Station, nama panggung penulis lagu Travis Rue, meraciknya pelan-pelan dengan hamparan piano hangat dan denyut drum yang tidak pernah terburu-buru. Melodinya berkilau tipis-tipis di belakang, sementara vokalnya berhembus dekat dengan gema yang dibiarkan menggantung. Ia mengalun seperti ombak kecil yang malas sampai ke pantai.

Liriknya menumpuk pengakuan kecil, jatuh cinta pada selembar foto, mimpi yang mati di tangan sendiri, hari-hari yang meloncat seperti piringan hitam tergores. Setiap bait ia tutup dengan menyerah kecil yang sama. “What do I know,” nyanyinya. Ada kerendahan hati yang murung di situ, dan kita ikut mengangguk pelan.

Down adalah teman yang pas untuk Sabtu yang tidak ke mana-mana. Hanya saja, untuk seorang optimis-tukang-lagu-sedih seperti yang tertulis di bionya, The Satellite Station masih menyimpan optimismenya rapat-rapat (saya sih masih menunggu versi riangnya).
